Robert Treat Academy's Mission Statement
At Robert Treat Academy Charter School, we believe that schools exist for children—to give them very best education possible so that one day they will be successful adults and citizens. Every student, rich or poor, regardless of color, language, or origin deserves our all-out efforts to deliver an excellent education. This is an American dream we must achieve if our country is to remain strong.
Today’s students have to be better prepared to adapt and learn for the rest of their lives. This is the demand of a global society. Our students’ education must be guided by the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards in the areas of reading and language arts, mathematics, science, social studies, world language, the arts and physical education/health. Our students must also master other 21st century skills, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork.
Robert Treat Academy has another critical role to play in preparing our students to succeed. We live in a democracy, and our students have to learn commonly-held values to function in our society. They must know their rights and responsibilities and they must learn to work hard, show mutual respect, be honest, collaborate with others, take personal responsibility, and give back. Good citizenship demands these qualities.
The parents and educators of Robert Treat Academy Charter School, including administrators, teachers, trustees, and the entire staff take these challenges very seriously. We all commit to do our very best to give our students every opportunity to succeed in this global society and to do all we can to inspire them to be contributing citizens of our City, our State and our Country.
