At Robert Treat Academy we believe that in addition to reading, writing and arithmetic, a well-rounded student's course of instruction must include the Fine Arts. We are fortunate to have a very talented Music Department led by the following teachers....
MS.CHRISTI COREY
Music Teacher Grades K-8
Ms. Corey joined our Staff at the end of the 2010-2011 school year. She is honored to be accepted into the RTA community. She brings many years of studying, playing and privately teaching practically all genres of music. Ask her about piano, flute, percussion, rock, jazz, classical, even hip-hop as she is well versed in them all! Whether we are singing together in the multipurpose room, her classroom, or on stage she knows that we will blossom during her time with the students. How much more we will learn beyond measure!
Music Teachers Reynaldo Jorge and Michael Vinas provide instruction in instrumental music. Mr. Jorge teaches brass, woodwind, percussion and stringed instruments to students in grades three through eight. Mr. Vinas' assignment includes responsibility for our computerized piano laboratory where students learn to write and record music on networked keyboards.
