Shark Tank: Character Trait Edition 🦈
Ms. Tiana and Ms. Mendez led an exciting project with the 8th grade students of Room 107, giving them the opportunity to pitch to the “Sharks” why their chosen character trait was the most important—just like on Shark Tank. Students selected traits such as kindness, dependability, perseverance, and more, and worked hard to defend why their trait deserved to be “chosen.”
Our Sharks for the day were Mr. Trillo, our school’s principal; Mr. Ontel, our Physical Education teacher; and Citi Medina, CEO of Equal Space, alongside Kelly Outing, Chief Community & Programming Officer of Equal Space. Equal Space is a premium shared workspace created with multicultural business owners in mind, offering startup resources, coaching for tech companies, and access to a network of minority business owners.
What better group of professionals to help our 8th graders sharpen their communication, confidence, and presentation skills? 👏

6th graders love Thursday mornings in the Science Lab with Ms. Cardona: today they observed snow particles under a microscope. At least the snow was useful 🙂
